Special wheels are designed to channel air to the brakes to help keep them cool. interiordodge neon features a roomy cabin. The driver sits high for good visibility. The neon's front seats offer lots of hip room and legroom. The rear spoiler that's standard on r/t and optional on sxt restricts rearward vision down low, but not unduly. the sxt's seats are quite comfortable, cushy and supportive. The side bolster seemed a bit soft at first, but felt fine while driving. The cloth upholstery feels good and looks durable. Vinyl trim on the front edges of the seats gives them a nicely finished look and feel. dash and door trim are made of a premium material that is soft to the touch, providing an attractive appearance and feel and avoiding the plastic look in many other compacts. The body-color bezels that come with the sport appearance package add a racy accent to the sxt. The stereo sounded mediocre. Having to press a button to get the key out of the ignition slot seems like an unnecessarily annoying extra step. back-seat passengers benefit from the large interior. It's not a bad place to spend short-to-medium-length trips. Rear-seat roominess is about average for the class. the trunk is reasonably large, and average for the class. Gooseneck hinges intrude into the cargo space, but afford a relatively large trunk opening. Lift-over height is on the high side. The rear seat splits 60/40 and folds down for carrying additional cargo. srt-4 comes with special interior trim, including a satin-silver center stack, shift knob and door handles. Srt-4 seats are modeled after those in the dodge viper with enhanced lumbar and lateral sections for better support when cornering. Agate-colored cloth is designed to grip the driver. Cast aluminum pedals look like those seen in racecars. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8. 5 seconds, which makes it quicker than many more-expensive compacts, including honda civic lx, mazda protege lx, or nissan sentra gxe. It lacks torque down low in the rev range, however. Step on it while cruising at 3000 rpm and it slowly gathers speed. There's a small rush of power that starts somewhere around 4000 rpm, but there isn't great gobs of it. New motor mounts introduced for 2003 reduce noise somewhat. Still, the 2. 0-liter engine is relatively unrefined, and its boomy and raucous behavior is transmitted into the cabin. the automatic transmission was recalibrated for 2003 for improved driveability, and a new, more elaborate electronic controller promises better communication between engine and gearbox. The manual gearbox works well, but shifting is clunky. the suspension nicely balances ride quality and handling agility. The neon is fun to drive on winding roads. It responds well in emergency lane-change maneuvers. Soft springs and premium shocks are tuned to enhance the neon's ride quality. Indeed, we found that the neon does not bottom out the way many cars do. When we hit a sharp dip, the neon's suspension was soft enough to absorb the harshness of the dip, yet it was firm enough and had enough travel to avoid bottoming. As a result, the front of the neon did not scrape on the pavement where many others have scraped before. This makes for a more comfortable ride and there's less need to slow to a walking pace for dips. the brakes that come standard on the neon stop the car quickly and are stable under hard use. The neon stops more quickly than many of the other cars in its class.

Brake pads belts and wear items have been replaced. Truck was painted in 2013 and color was changed from two tone blue paint. Paint was pealing so body was soda blasted and all side moldings and hood ornament where removed truck has all new cab, door, window moldings and seals truck also has new steering gear,steering shaft,new battery,master cylinder,brake rotors and pads,tie rod endsall new seals and u joints in front end,alignment all fluids have been changed and trans has been serviced spray in liner. This truck is clean but it's not perfect it does have a couple scratches on the bumpers and wear marks on the seat drivers door glass has some scratches. Trailer brake with way plug wired clean. I have the truck for sale locally so i may remove ad if it sale. Vehicle report says two owners it's the same family.

A heavy-duty full-size with everyday comfort. introductionthough it's now the oldest design among current full-size pickups, the dodge ram may still be the best-looking truck on the market. Clearly, it's the most stylish. it drives and rides well with quick steering and excellent brakes. Five engines are offered: 3. 9-liter v6, 5. 2-liter v8, 5. 9-liter v8, 8. 0-liter v10 and two cummins 5. 9-liter diesel inline-6 choices. Every engine comes with a choice of 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Short and long beds are available. the 5. 2-liter v8 produces 230 horsepower, while the 5. 9-liter v8 generates 245 horsepower and an impressive 335 pounds-feet of torque. The basic cummins diesel produces 235 horsepower and 460 pounds-feet of torque, while the new-for-2001 high-output version cranks out 245 horsepower and a stump-pulling 505 pounds-feet of torque. standard, club cab and quad cab bodies are available in lt, laramie slt, and sst trim levels. The bold design with broad-shouldered front fenders is reminiscent of big freightliners steaming down the road with a full load of logs. It remains the best-looking pickup on the market. To improve structural rigidity, dodge designed a beam that runs laterally under the truck, and reinforced both the a and c pillars. Side door guard beams were also added to improve protection from side impacts. the optional sport package comes with a body-colored grille and front and rear bumpers, decals, fog lamps, outline white letter tires, and cast aluminum wheels. The absence of a b-pillar makes it much easier to get in or out of the rear seat; it also makes it much easier to stick something behind the front seats. This includes a new steering wheel design, a big storage compartment, an extra power point, and new cupholders designed to handle any commercially available drink container. Other recent improvements include a keyless remote entry system, an upgraded base sound system, a cassette and cd sound system option and a new center console. The instrument pod features vacuum-fluorescent odometer and trip odometer that are tamperproof, and there are driver-programmable keyless entry key fobs. Other interior features include heated power mirrors, illuminated power door locks and window switches, and an optional security alarm system. the front seat in all rams is divided 40/20/40, with a huge fold-down center section that doubles as armrest and writing table. When no one is sitting in it, the center position provides a large storage box, with divided spaces for coins, cassettes, maps or a laptop computer. The front seat belts are integrated into the seats themselves, which gets rid of messy hanging belts -- a particularly nice improvement for the wide-open quad cab doorway. the quad cab rear seat is the same one used in other extended cab versions. It's handy for children, pets and petite adults, but it is not very comfortable for adults on long trips. The bench portion of the seat flips up out of the way effortlessly from either side for hauling tools or cargo. The power window option comes with an express-down switch on the driver's side. Steering wheel mounted radio controls are optional. There are two new overhead console designs; one with and one without trip computer. This engine has a ton of torque and a broad power band, which makes it a great deal of fun to drive. Passing is effortless. The manual transmission can add flexibility in off-road situations, but we recommend the automatic for street use. Rear suspension is a conventional live axle with leaf springs designed to carry heavy loads. The dodge v8 pickup truck has for years had a special kind of presence on the street, and the ram backs up that presence with excellent street manners and ride. steering revisions that were new last year make steering much more precise than earlier models. Steering in the earlier rams was light and quick, but had a lot of dead space on-center and seemed to require constant left-right adjustments. braking, with discs in front, drums in rear, is exemplary. The ram stops quickly with superb straight-line stability. Recent improvements to the instrumentation, powertrain and body combinations have made it an all-around better truck.

Big, stylish, capable, and loaded with features. introductionthe dodge ram 1500 is chrysler's entry in the traditional american full-size pickup truck market. Also, it no longer carries the dodge nameplate, as one of the changes brought on by the reorganization of chrysler is that the dodge brand is now assigned to the passenger cars and the trucks are under the ram brand name. There are three available engines: a 3. 7-liter v6 of 215 horsepower, a 4. 7-liter v8 of 310 horsepower, and the famous 5. 7-liter hemi of 390 horsepower. On the inside it is full of interesting features. It's an american full-size pickup truck, but it is different in several ways from its most likely competitors, the ford f-150 and chevrolet silverado 1500. And then there's the availability of the powerful hemi engine. for 2010 there are only minimal changes. There is a slightly higher gross combined weight rating (gcwr), with the v6 engine there is a fuel-saver indicator, all engines have a deceleration fuel shutoff for improved economy, there is an available integrated trailer-brake controller, and a few other details of trim or options. lineupthe 2010 ram comes in st, slt, sport, trx, and laramie trim levels. The 5. 7-liter v8 hemi is offered across the board. No manual transmissions are offered. ram st models 20,610-$31,370) are workhorses, with standard vinyl floor and manual windows, although they do include chrome bumpers and grille outline, air conditioning, abs, cd player, variable intermittent wipers, locking tailgate, sentry key and, on 4wd, electric-shift. Options include chrome wheels, two-tone paint, cruise control, trailer mirrors, limited-slip differential and alternate axle ratios, sliding rear window, and sirius radio. ram slt models 24,855-$34,240) upgrade with carpet floor covering, floor mats, 40/20/40 split-bench seat, overhead console, cruise control, remote keyless entry, power windows and door locks, heated mirrors and 17-inch painted aluminum wheels. Pay extra for an engine block heater, power-sliding rear window, heated power folding mirrors, bedliner, 3. 92:1 axle ratio, limited-slip differential, tip start, cruise control, and uconnect studios sirius satellite radio. The ram sport 29,740-$38,475) is available in all three cab styles and is labeled sport r/t on the regular cab. It adds a 5. 7-liter hemi, slate-gray contrast-stitched bucket seats, body-color fascia, fog lamps and 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels. R/t models use a 4. 10:1 rear axle for superior acceleration but will still tow 5000 pounds. Options mirror those on the slt. The ram laramie 36,880-$42,650) is the top of the line, with leather heated seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, chromed door handles and mirrors, and security alarm. Extra-cost features include 20-inch aluminum wheels, sunroof, navigation and rear-seat entertainment. The illusion comes from the shape, which has a definite presence. one distinction of the ram is that a lot of the usual gaps and spaces are noticeably narrow and tight, such as spaces between tires and fender openings, and between the cargo box and the cab. This not only looks nice and clean, but it also helps reduce wind noise and improve efficiency. From the outside the ram looks neat and tidy. The side mirrors stand off from the door glass, the sides are fairly flat, and the tailgate spoiler and windshield are both rounded for improved aerodynamics. Seen from behind where the tires appear almost flush with the body panels, the truck looks quite trim. there is no large seam between the front bumper and the grille and lights, and if the truck does not have fog lights the bumper does not have the outline marks that show it's missing something. The tailgate has a torsion bar system that cuts its apparent weight in half for ease of lowering and raising it. even the least expensive model has some chrome on the front rather than the complete industrial gray that typifies base models from some other manufacturers and there are plenty of paint choices. On upper trim-level variants the mirrors have led puddle lamps and the headlamps are dual-bulb units, and on the sport the front bumper is deeper and body-colored. It measures 49 inches wide inside, so it can accommodate the ubiquitous 4x8 sheet of building material flat on the floor. Side rails with cleats secure the cargo, and a bed divider that locks into place segments the bed into smaller areas or can be flipped over and used as a bed extender with the tailgate down. Moving the interior walls inward results in sidewalls with much thicker sections, and in the tops of the two sides of the rambox are two locking bins, capable of holding 120 standard 12-ounce cans on the left side (where the fuel fill is located) and 130 on the right, or anything else of that same volume, such as dirty clothes, tools, golf bags and so forth. These boxes have locking lids, drains, lights and 90-degree opening lids; together the volume exceeds that of a 55-gallon drum. They might even hold trailer sway control equipment, though the heavy bars may be pushing the limits of the boxes. The rambox cargo management system has its trade-offs. They offer good support and plenty of room. We swapped through a few ram models back-to-back to compare the trim levels and found the seat in the base model is the same design as in the top-line models, and we had no complaints after a full day of driving. We also found we could sit in the back of a quad cab for 20-minute jaunts, but a six-foot passenger will be happier in a crew cab where rear dimensions are essentially the same as the front; only the crew cab has a center rear headrest. instrumentation includes a tachometer. The gear indicators are orange with the gear chosen shown in green. The gauges are illuminated amber at night while the controls are bathed in green. The electronic stability control switch.
